Passed

Not exactly with the flying colours that have so often accompanied my academic results in the past, but passed nonetheless. Looks like it shall be Philosophy and Politics next year; English was my worst result. That really stings, even though the course was not one bit to my liking. How did other Arts students do?

I found this amusing clip on Damien’s blog. Highly entertaining stuff.
Charles J Haughey, Bastard

As the old media’s post-mortem fellatio of Charlie Haughey continues apace, I find myself moved to blog about the late former Taoiseach. I had initially intended to let the whole issue slide past me without offering any comment, but I’ve been so disgusted by the plethora of glowing tributes to the notoriously corrupt politician that [...]
“We’re Doing This For The Boys In Iraq”

What a member of the U.S. team said to journalists before his team’s match with Italy, according to Bill O’Herlihy. I laughed until I wept. Apparently the same player, Landon Donovan I believe, claimed that his side were not going out to play a game of football but fight a war against the Azzurri, and [...]
Some Old Nine Inch Nails Videos
Posted on June 10, 2006 - Filed Under Music | 1 Comment
Some clips I found on YouTube of Nine Inch Nails live during the nineties. The first is an ad for a DVD version of ‘Closure’, which was never released. The second is a video of them playing ‘Happiness In Slavery’ during their Woodstock performance in 1994. Both clips feature Trent’s penchant for destroying expensive equipment. [...]
Something Funny And Something Horrific

This is the funny thing. And this is the horrific thing (note: if the funny thing didn’t exactly float your boat, then this is certain to sink it). Thanks to the ever informative Encyclopedia Dramatica.
Buying An iPod

As many friends of mine are aware, my iPod broke some time ago, making my life a lot worse in the process. The time has now come to replace it and I have a few questions that I’d really appreciate answered. Firstly, do the newer iPods really need a protective case to keep scratches off [...]
The World Cup: What I Think Shall Come To Pass
Posted on June 4, 2006 - Filed Under Football | 6 Comments
As the newspapers are getting geared up for the greatest show on Earth with a deluge of factually inaccurate supplements (I didn’t know Esteban Cambiasso played for Juventus), I’ve decided to blog my own predictions here. I’ll go through the big teams one by one and rate their chances, starting with the Group A-based hosts, [...]
“Remind Me Not To Ever Act This Way Again”
Posted on June 3, 2006 - Filed Under Music | 3 Comments
A mostly pointless, throw-away Taking Back Sunday lyric, but nonetheless a good synopsis of how I feel about my behaviour last night. I really should know better at this stage than to drink half a bottle (and a big bottle too, not the small type) of Jack Daniel’s in the space of about three hours. [...]
New Template; New Problems

As you’ll probably have noticed, my blog has undergone some redecoration. Again, a very big thanks to Gavin for this. However, a consequence of the new layout seems to be that I can only display one video on the main page at a time. The text also seems a bit small, so maybe it will [...]
