The Greatest Video Game In The World

You’re all thinking Final Fantasy VII. Well most of you are anyway, or at least those of you with an discerning appreciation of video games. However, you’re wrong. The greatest game of all time is not Final Fantasy VII, nor Metal Gear Solid, nor The Legend of Zelda, but Resident Evil 4.

Everything about it simply exudes brialliance, from the nerve-wracking sonic-driven atmosphere to the beautiful graphics, and it plays like a dream. The controls are fluid and immediate, and the difficulty level on normal is challenging yet not ball-breakingly tough. Where this game really trounces the competition, however, is in terms of replay value. The PS2 version, while reportedly not as visually polished as the GameCube one, is laden with extras such as new game modes and unlockable weapons that provide more than enough incentive to play the game to death. There’s even a whole new game (new character, new cut scenes, plot interwoven with main game) to play after finishing the primary one.

The only (and I do mean only) fault that I can find with Resi 4 is that, in the tradition of all Capcom games, it suffers from some pretty dreadful dialogue in the cut scenes. Other than that, the game is flawless and a thoroughbred 10/10 game.

Here’s the clip that comes on at the start if you don’t press anything on the menu screen.
