South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut

I hadn’t seen this until quite recently, which is odd considering I’m a big fan of the series (the jury’s still out on season X however). The film is excellent. It’s essentially a animated musical with lots of swearing, but such a description doesn’t even come close to doing this movie justice. The songs are great and the movie is absolutely hilarious from the very beginning. The story, like the title, has something of a double meaning since it makes a case a against censorship beneath an exterior of sometimes often crude humour. Here’s a clip of the ‘film within the film’ that sparks the controversy. It’s called ‘Asses of Fire’, and it’s by the Canadian comic duo Terrance and Phillip (incidentally, Terrance and Phillip on their own are easily way funnier than most ‘funny’ TV shows such as the now disgracefully awful Simpsons). If you don’t laugh at this video then this film probably isn’t for you. (Apologies for the quality, but this was the only version I could find that didn’t cut off too soon).
