Just saying it&#039;s annoying that lots and lots of news agencies can run with something without checking its original context. Makes you wonde rhow much of bigger stories they screw up.</description>

		<description>I haven&#039;t researched it beyond something I read in some random newspaper but I&#039;m almost certain that this Knut thing is a load of bollox: 

According to what I read, some Zoo in Germany put down a polar bear cub after its mother rejected it, despite the fact that it was being cared for by a dog or something. An animal rights campaigner who protested *against* this, on hearing about Knut&#039;s story said something to the effect that if they were to go by the logic of this other German Zoo, Knut should be put down. The quote was siezed on and distorted by some German rag and evolved into the current story, which as I said, is apparently a load of bollox.</description>
