Lionel Messi V Diego Maradona

This is Messi’s goal from Wednesday night against Getafe.
It’s hard to say which is the better goal. Given the occasion, Maradona’s probably shades it, but then the England players barely tried to tackle him.

The English defenders were suffering in the Mexican heat. Maradona beat less players and those he did beat hardly made any attempt to hassle him.
Getafe had an evening fixture, and they were well used to conditions. Messi wins, at least for the nutmegs anyway.
But Maradona scored his goal at the World Cup finals. That’s got to count for something.
