These pictures are meant to be evocative of this problem, although they obviously do not display images of polar bears dying due to global warming. Everyone knows polar bears can swim, and that they willing float about on ice floes, but they still need some permanent ice to live on all year round. That's about the fifth picture of polar bears "stuck" on the icebergs I've seen (the Examiner did a full page once).
