argghhh…

I woke up in the bathtub of my hotel room this morning with litlle recollection of how I got there. I remember drawing the bath, the rest is all a little Alberto Gonzales. Apparently I was singing a lot and falling around the streets, but in a merry, non-offensive way. Shane and Huan, our tour guide, more or less carried me home, or so I’m told. The hours between about 11:30 and, perhaps, 4:00 are a total blackout. The room was also a disgrace. Suffice it to say I had compelling reasons to leave a large tip.
My head still feels awful and I have to cycle a bike in a few hours.
On re-reading this I’m struck by my capacity to moan and complain even while on an awesome holiday.
Does anyone know when the UCC Arts II results are out?

Med II got their’s ages ago.
Did you check to make sure you had both your livers?
Not exactly on topic, but I’m wondering if you plan to blog on this Rushdie fiasco, or if you’ve had access to the reports. I feel like writing something long-winded and indignant myself, but have too much on my literary plate at the moment.
Hello, just checked in on your blog. China sounds fun, sans the occasional mishaps that seem to have happened to you. And in relation to this particular post, we’ve all been there.
Well, not necessarily in a bath. But somewhere.
With regard to the Rushdie thing, I only saw a ‘Say What!?!’ quote on Slate from a Pakistani minister. I’m not sure whether it’s now a full-blown diplomatic incident, but, in my opinion, fair play to the Queen or whoever it is in the British government body that selects those to be honoured. If Rushdie’s as good a writer as he’s reputed to be (I’ve yet to read him), then he deserves his recognition. I don’t see how any nation can claim a veto on who another nation honours.
