High Brow Political Discourse

Here’s a link to an amusing discussion about gender in politics, and also how penis size relates to foreign policy and electability. It’s not funny so much for what is written, but rather the venue of the exchange (Matthew Yglesias’ blog on the Atlantic website), since it’s usually given over to more regular political issues. Sample comment (in response to a question posed by an earlier comment):
Do you think a man could be elected president if it were common knowledge he had a 4″ cock?
No.
Even better question: do you think a man could be elected president if he had a freakishly large cock? As in, it was completely conspicuous, going 3/4 of the way down to his knee, or something like that.
To which some wit later responed:
Even better question: do you think a man could be elected president if he had a freakishly large cock?
Pre 9/11, no.
Post 9/11, yes.
Everything changed on 9/11.
It’s funny in its entirety, or maybe I’m just feeling juvenile right now.

I know where you’re going with that, but forget it.
If nominated, I will not accept; if drafted, I will not run; if elected, I will not serve.
