Running Dry on Bad Excuses

Seems like I’ll be handing in yet another late essay tomorrow since I was still sleeping when the noon deadline passed today. What should I say this time? I’m not too familiar with this department, and as far as I’m aware the Philosophy department is relatively cavalier about this these things when compared its siblings, so I might need a better one this time than the usual “uhhhhh, I umm, got here at 5.10 yesterday and the department had, uhhh, just closed…”

Email Detmar, say you are ill with a 24hour flu thingy (try and make it sound a BIT better, but you get the idea) and drop it in at 9am tomorrow… ignore Norma (the secretary) and her attitude - she has an attitude problem all teh time…
I think they shouldn’t accept it it’s just breeding contempt and lazyness!
