Kim Jong-il About to Kick the Bucket

As somebody studying medicine, news such as this probably shouldn’t cheer me up:
WASHINGTON — The North Korean leader Kim Jong-il is seriously ill and might have suffered a stroke weeks ago, an American intelligence official in Washington said Tuesday, after Mr. Kim failed to attend an unexpectedly small-scale celebration of his country’s 60th anniversary.
However, given that Kim Jong-Il is vile despot who presides over a despicable, oppressive and dangerous regime, I think I can be forgiven for reacting to the story with a smile. Let’s hope that what’s left of the country (not the government/state) doesn’t fall apart after he dies; if it does there will be one hell of a humanitarian crisis.
