It’s not official yet, but erstwhile SNL writer, author and all-round funny guy Al Franken looks like he’s going to win the contested Senate seat in Minnesota.

The recount in the Minnesota Senate race continues, and Al Franken’s lead continues to grow.
He now has a 49 vote lead over incumbent Republican Senator Norm Coleman.
Election workers have been recounting the votes for almost two months now.
They say it could be days or even weeks before a final outcome is announced
