“To sleep, perchance to dream…”

Posted on April 15, 2009 - Filed Under Life-In-General | 1 Comment

One of the better results of dropping out of med school has been that I’m having one of the longest runs of good sleep in my life, with the result that I’m having plenty of interesting dreams. Usually they’re exciting in a good way (apocalyptic survivalism scenarios where I’m leading an unruly band of real-life acquaintances, fighting Gears of War II enemies as a COG soldier on snow-capped mountains with a friend, etc…), but this morning I dreamt that I ate a big bowl of minced meat and woke up feeling sick and disgusted with myself.

I don’t know why I write this stuff here, but I’m even more confused as to why anyone reads it.

You’re all weird.

The meat represents a taboo. Like incest. Your eating it represents an act of consummation, like sex.

Ergo, you want to sleep with your mother.

    …What?
