Veganism, Day 16

I made cookies today. I’d be lying if I claimed they were very good, but the experience was not altogether a waste.
Lessons learned:
1. The temperatures in American recipes are in Fahrenheit.
2. In cooking, less is sometimes more; doubling the amount of vanilla essence called for in the recipe does not make something twice as nice.
3. Cookies are supposed to be soft when you take them out of the oven; leaving them in for longer doesn’t firm them, it burns them.
4. Cookies are a sometimes food; vegan or not, the ingredients used in making cookies are not very healthy and eating too many of them will make you fat.
5. If you’re inexperienced in the kitchen and making something for the first time then the ‘preparation time’ stated in the recipe does not apply to you. At all.
