Help Me

New Alkaline Trio single. I thought it was pretty bad at first, but by the end of the video it’s quite obvious that it’s all intended as a joke. Good song too. The resolution is quite low but this was the only version available at the time of posting.

Broken Video

Following on from the Broken post, I neglected to mention that Trent made a video to accompany the album’s music. It’s all available on YouTube, so I would be remiss in not sharing it with you. It’s rather graphic, so don’t watch it if you have strong objections to seeing naked guys mutilated and tortured. [...]

I wrote this a few days ago while I was in a bod mood and listening to Broken. I guess if the whole medicine thing doesn’t work for I can always go write for Kerrang! or some other childish music magazine…
Being in a bad mood, by definition, is not enjoyable. However, it is only under [...]

How strange that my two favourite bands both have great songs named “Burn”…

These guys sound like a lot of those ‘cool’ bands that pretentious hipsters like to reference, but they’re also rather good. I came across them on Matthew Yglesias’ excellent Atlantic blog when he recommended this song as a theme song for the McCain campaign.

Link. It’s so good! And so true! The background music is a sample of a little tune from the magazine’s podcast.

‘999,999′ - ‘1,000,000′
Just to prove that he is, in fact, the greatest thing on Earth, Trent Reznor has elected to release the new Nine Inch Nails album, The Slip, online FOR FREE! Now if only that fucking download link would arrive faster…
Indie Band in Actually Really Good Shock

I always figured that they were nothing but a less-awful version of the Kaiser Chiefs, but The Libertines are actually great. It’s a shame that their singer went off and became such a helpless smack head.

One of the very few reasons why Emo/Hardcore/Post-Hardcore/Whatever-the-cool-kids-call-it-now doesn’t completely suck. The song is called ‘Pioneers’, and the video is based on a rather nasty sounding short story called ‘The Lottery‘.
