The drunkard loudly proclaims his truth to his companions,
Bounds out the door,
And hurls the empty rum bottle across the street,
Where its shards glint in tandem with those of its slain accomplices

A bald man observes all this from his doorway,
And returns fire the following morning
By sending police to the house across the street from him
Where the drunkard’s friend skillfully avoids any difference of opinion
By not answering the door
